Yesterday we saw the Conventional Investor Market Share post and noticed the dominance of market share by the top three investors – today we see the same leadership, but specifically within the top two investor slots. Week-over-week, PennyMac is clear and away the GOV market share winner taking up 43% of the market and increasing 9% since last recorded! Wells comes in second place, which gives them the top investor slot if you look at total market share between CON and GOV products (43% and 23% respectively). Below the top two slots, the investors range from Amerihome at 9% market share down to the 10th slot, NewRez at 1%. What I find interesting is that every investor except those in the top 3, saw both market share and dollar volume decreases. They all directly fed the share increases of PennyMac, Wells and Amerihome, and allowed Plaza and NewRez to eat up some share and enter into the top 10.
